Daniel Castano is the Centre Daily Times’ Spike of the Week.

Castano, a left-handed pitcher, has been dominant in three starts this season for the Spikes, going 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA. He earned his third win and tied a single-game franchise record with 10 strikeouts in the team’s 8-2 victory over Batavia on Saturday night. Castano allowed two runs (one earned) and didn’t walk a batter in seven innings.

Castano led the New York-Penn League with 25 strikeouts going into Sunday’s games.

The left-hander was the St. Louis Cardinals’ 19th-round draft pick out of Baylor in 2016.
