Brandon Benson named CDT’s Spike of the Week

Brandon Benson is the Centre Daily Times’ Spike of the Week.

Benson went 4 for 5 with a grand slam and six RBIs in the team’s 9-0 win over Williamsport on Thursday night to highlight his week. He tied a franchise record with six RBIs and also tripled in the game. His grand slam was the first home run of his professional career and the first by a Spikes player since 2014.

Benson finished 5 for 16 (.313) for the week.

Benson was selected in the 20th round of this year’s MLB draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Georgia College product is hitting .308 with nine RBIs this season.
