Rocking chair, adult diapers and more: Spikes set for Sean Clifford ‘retirement party’
Green Bay Packer — and former Penn State Nittany Lion — Sean Clifford will make a trip to State College this weekend for one final send-off. The former PSU quarterback started for four seasons and spent six in Happy Valley with the football program.
That long tenure has led to the State College Spikes hosting a “retirement party” for him Saturday for their game against the Frederick Keys. The game, which begins at 6:35 p.m., will feature a host of activities related to Clifford’s elder status in the program by the time he left.
Clifford will be at the game doing a meet and greet and signing autographs. He’ll be presented with gifts as well along with giveaways for fans that include “Snowbird” trip (a one-way airline ticket) to Florida, a rocking chair and a year’s supply of adult diapers.
All fans 25 and older can receive the team’s senior citizen discount at the ticket office prior to the game, and all fans can enter to win the “ultimate pickleball set.”
The first 1,000 fans in attendance will receive a bobblehead of the former Nittany Lion quarterback.
Tickets for the game can be purchased on the Spikes’ official website.
