Not sure where to watch the Super Bowl? Here are a couple options
Maybe you don’t feel like making buffalo chicken dip, or maybe too many of your friends will be rooting for the other team. Whatever the case, if you’re not hosting or going to a Super Bowl party, local bars and restaurants plan to help you out.
Here’s a non-inclusive list of places to watch the Philadelphia Eagles take on the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Something different: Your Cigar Den, in downtown State College, is offering tickets to its third Superb Owl Party with pizza, wings, soda, drinks and a commemorative cigar for $25, which helps offset the food cost.
Tony Ghaffari, the shop’s owner, said he planned to watch the Super Bowl regardless, so it made sense to open the shop for others. He said he did not sell tickets to the event for the first year, but did provide about $200 of food. Last year’s event sold out with the $25 cover and Ghaffari said he purchased $400 of food.
Viewers will also have an opportunity to compete in 35 prop bets or questions, such as the over/under on the length of the national anthem. There will also be a raffle for hats, T-shirts, lighters and cigars.
Party packs: Bonfatto’s in Bellefonte plans to offer three football-themed party packs called “The Extra Point,” “The Field Goal” and “The Touchdown.”
“The Extra Point” and “The Field Goal” both include 16-inch subs, large pizzas and wings. “The Touchdown” offers the most food out of the trio. Three 16-inch subs, two large pizzas with up to three toppings and 75 wings may be purchased for $139.
The Eagles will attempt to win their first Super Bowl in franchise history while the Patriots play for their sixth championship. The two teams previously played in Super Bowl XXXIX, which the Patriots won 24-21.
