1 killed, 5 injured in 3-vehicle crash

A fatal crash involving three vehicles closed down state Route 53 in Woodward Township, Clearfield County, for several hours Sunday evening.

According to state police at Clearfield, a 2012 Jeep Wrangler driven by Gregory Millinder Jr., 31, of Madera, was traveling southbound on Route 53 at 6:15 p.m. when he lost control of his vehicle and entered the oncoming lane of traffic, striking the rear of a Chevy Corvette.

After the impact, Millinder continued south in the northbound lane and crashed head-on into a Chevy Bel-Air, driven by 71-year-old Gary Stover, of Loganton.

All three vehicles sustained debilitating damage and were towed from the scene.

The occupants of the Chevy Corvette, Gary and Mary Gillette, of Moshannon, were both transported to UPMC Altoona.

Millinder and his passenger, an 8-year-old child, sustained minor injuries, according to police.

Police classified the incident as a DUI fatal crash, and are asking anyone with information to contact the Clearfield station at 857-3800.
