Man claimed to have gun, fled with pizza, police say

State College police are following up on a reported robbery late Wednesday in the State College borough.

According to police, a Papa John’s driver reported delivering a pizza at about 9 p.m. to the corner of South Garner Street and Bradley Avenue. On arrival, the driver met with a man who told the driver he had a gun and demanded the driver’s wallet and phone.

No gun was actually seen during the incident, police said, and the man eventually fled the scene with the pizza, valued at about $20.

The man was described as a white male, about 30-40 years old, about 5 feet 9 inches tall, and skinny with scruffy facial hair, police said. He was reportedly wearing a blue hoodie, black sweat pants and sneakers.
