Who damaged the Lion Shrine? A picture could tell the story
Earlier Monday, Penn State police released a picture of four people who might have information regarding damage to the Lion Shrine, a statue that symbolizes the school mascot.
Police then launched an investigation into what the department has called criminal mischief. In the afternoon, Penn State police reported, “The persons in the crime alert have been identified. University Police continue to investigate.”
The incident at the Lion Shrine occurred at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Curtin and Burrowes roads. The people pictured may have information pertaining to the damage, which was an ear being broken off, according to police.
It is unknown if the university has possession of the ear — police declined to release more information about the case until its investigation is complete.
This story has been updated to reflect that the police have now identified the suspects.
