Jogger robbed on bike path; Ferguson police seek gunman
Ferguson Township police are seeking information in an alleged armed robbery Friday night.
According to police, a 26-year-old male college student said he was jogging at about 9:15 p.m. on the bike path at Havershire Boulevard when he was confronted by another male with a handgun. The man with the gun took the jogger’s fanny pack before striking the jogger on the head and fleeing down the bike path, police said.
The fanny pack was found a short distance from the scene with all the contents, excluding money, police said.
The suspect is described by police as a black male, between 5 feet 10 inches and 6-feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 800-479-0050. Those providing information leading to an arrest may be eligible for a $1,000 reward from Centre County Crimestoppers.
