Some of the cutest cats in the nation are young, while others have earned senior status

Some are cuddly, some are playful. At least one is known to do backflips.

They’re all adorable, without question.

McClatchy Media recently went in search of the cutest cats in the United States, holding contests in California, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas and Washington state.

Local readers voted for the favorite felines. Now the top kitties are facing off against each other for bragging rights as the cutest cat nationwide.

That’s where you come in.
