Feeling festive? These Centre County restaurants have St. Patrick’s Day menu features
Spring has nearly sprung, and that means St. Patrick’s Day is right around the corner.
From State College to Bellefonte and beyond, several Centre County establishments are offering limited-time menus and dishes to celebrate the holiday. Here’s a look at upcoming specials that will be offered March 17 and throughout the season.
Otto’s Pub and Brewery
When: 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. March 17
Where: 2235 N. Atherton St. in State College
What’s on the menu: Otto’s will kick off St. Patrick’s Day with a breakfast service that will feature entrees like a full Irish breakfast, thick-cut french toast, corned beef hash and a breakfast parfait. Lunch and dinner specials include Irish stew, corned beef and cabbage, bangers and mash and a Reuben pizza.
Featured drink specials include $4 Black Me Stout pints all day, as well as Irish coffee and $5 Jolly Roger Imperial Stout pints.
Pine Grove Hall
When: 6 to roughly 10 p.m. March 17
Where: 101 E. Pine Grove Road, Pine Grove Mills
What’s on the menu: Pine Grove Hall’s St. Patrick’s Day menu includes a beef and Guinness pie, basil-flavored ice cream, a Gaelic Royal Flip cocktail and Guinness Extra Stout. The dinner menu will be available until about 9:45 p.m., according to the event page.
Callanish, a central Pennsylvania-based Celtic band, will play Irish and Scottish music during the event, which is expected to sell out. Reservations are available online at pinegrovehall.com or by calling 814-954-5419. Tickets start at $12.
Hublersburg Inn
When: Throughout March
Where: 449 Hublersburg Road, Hublersburg
What’s on the menu: The Hublersburg Inn’s March menu features a handful of Irish-themed favorites, including Reuben egg rolls, corned beef and cabbage, an Irish fisherman’s pie and a Guinness cake for dessert. The menu also boasts three types of Irish whiskey, 10 craft cocktails and featured beer and wine selections.
Tussey Bär & Kitchen
When: Friday, March 17
Where: 301 Bear Meadows Road, Boalsburg
What’s on the menu: Tussey Mountain’s premier restaurant will offer a limited menu on St. Patrick’s Day featuring a shepherd’s pie skillet with Guinness gravy, corned beef nachos, sticky Guinness-glazed wings and a pistachio creme brulee.
The Phyrst
When: March 17
Where: 111 E. Beaver Ave., State College
What’s on the menu: The Phyrst’s annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities kick off bright and early at 7 a.m. with live entertainment that stretches through the entire day, including performances from local bands like Lowjack, Donny Burns & The 3rd Degree and Piano Fight Club. Available specials include green eggs and corned beef hash for breakfast, plus green beer drafts and green tea shots. Guinness, Irish coffee and Jameson are also on tap.
Kelly’s Steak and Seafood
When: Throughout March
Where: 316 Boal Ave., Boalsburg
What’s on the menu: March’s dinner specials at Kelly’s start with Reuben spring rolls before offering entrees like shepherd’s pie, braised lamb shank, Irish stew, colcannon ravioli and a burger topped with sweet whiskey onions, mushrooms sauteed cabbage and Irish cheddar cheese. You can pair your meal with Guinness drafts and a chocolate pudding dish crowned with a Guinness whipped cream topping.
State Burger Co.
When: Throughout March
Where: 101 S. Allegheny St., Bellefonte
What’s on the menu: State Burger Co. is bringing back a St. Patrick’s Day-themed milkshake for its menu throughout March. The shake, known as “the Glamrock,” is a white chocolate and mint milkshake topped with whipped cream and plenty of green and gold sprinkles.
Gigi’s Southern Table
When: Friday, March 17
Where: 2080 Cato Ave., State College
What’s on the menu: A themed St. Patrick’s Day menu at Gigi’s boasts bangers and mash, fish and chips and a corned beef and cabbage dinner, the restaurant said. A Guinness cake and grasshopper pie are available for dessert, and it’s no surprise Guinness drafts are on the menu.
Governors’ Pub & Eatery
When: Throughout March
Where: 211 W. High St., Bellefonte
What’s on the menu: The Governors’ Pub will offer a handful of specials throughout March, including shepherd’s pie, a Guinness-infused chocolate cake and an Irish whiskey cheesecake, according to the restaurant’s Facebook page.
Talleyrand Tavern
When: March 17 and 18
Where: 211 W. High St., Bellefonte
What’s on the menu: Just next-door from the Governors’ Pub, Talleyrand Tavern is hosting a weekend St. Patrick’s Day party complete with karaoke. Chow down on an Irish pub meatloaf sandwich or gain some liquid confidence through Irish ales, Guinness shots and Irish cream cocktails, among other offerings.
Olde New York
When: St. Patrick’s Day weekend
Where: 2298 E. College Ave., State College
What’s on the menu: Olde New York’s weekend specials include shepherd’s pie and a corned beef and cabbage dinner that’s available Friday only. Drinks include Irish coffee, Smithwick’s Red Ale and grasshopper martinis, while Irish cream cheesecake is available for dessert.
We Are Inn
When: St. Patrick’s Day weekend
Where: 1535 Port Matilda Highway (Route 322), Philipsburg
What’s on the menu: The We Are Inn will feature oven-braised corned beef brisket, a grilled Reuben sandwich, ham and cabbage and a corned beef hoagie, the restaurant said.
Meyer Dairy
When: Throughout March
Where: 2390 S. Atherton St., State College
What’s on the menu: Meyer Dairy is offering its own take on the iconic McDonald’s Shamrock Shake throughout March, according to the family-owned dairy farm’s Facebook page.
Duffy’s Tavern
When: March 17
Where: 113 E. Main St., Boalsburg
What’s on the menu: A preliminary St. Patrick’s Day menu at Duffy’s includes shepherd’s pie, Guinness stew, Forfar Bridie, Irish boxty, fish and chips, seafood pie, an open-faced banger sandwich and more, according to restaurant management, though the restaurant’s themed offerings could expand even more in the coming days.
Duffy’s pastry chef is whipping up a dessert menu that features Irish whiskey pecan pie, Bailey’s cheesecake and a green velvet Guinness cake completed with layers of salted caramel icing.
The Corner Room
When: March 15 through March 19
Where: 100 W. College Ave., State College
What’s on the menu: While the Corner Room is open from Wednesday through Sunday, it will offer its own take on shepherd’s pie. Those hoping to satisfy their corned beef craving can order the restaurant’s Reuben sandwich, which remains a staple.
RE Farm Cafe
When: Throughout March
Where: 1000 Filmore Road, State College
What’s on the menu: RE Farm Cafe’s March menu boasts a handful of traditional St. Patrick’s Day dishes, including locally sourced corned beef and shepherd’s pie. Other monthly offerings include sauteed steelhead trout and gulf shrimp, pan-seared quail and sweet potato enchiladas.
The Field Burger and Tap
When: Throughout March
Where: 1 Country Club Lane, State College
What’s on the menu: The Field is offering a new milkshake, dubbed “the Leprechaun,” that combines ice cream and mint and is topped with Lucky Charms cereal.
Chumley’s
When: March 14 through 18
Where: 108 W. College Ave., State College
What’s on the menu: Chumley’s is offering a handful of featured small plates, including bangers and bean soup, lamb stew and potato and kale colcannon, according to a Facebook post. The beloved gay bar’s other options include a corned beef sandwich, a crab cake sandwich and Irish coffee sundae. Irish whiskey flights and special cocktails are also available.
PJ Harrigan’s Bar & Grill
When: March 17 and 18
Where: 1450 S. Atherton St., State College
What’s on the menu: PJ Harrigan’s Bar and Grill will feature a corned beef and cabbage entree in addition to a fish and chips platter, the restaurant said.
