Ferguson Township house fire displaces 4
A house fire early Friday displaced four people in Ferguson Township.
Alpha Fire Company Assistant Chief Shawn Kauffman said a fire started in the basement rec room of a house in the 300 block of Madison Street. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at about 2 a.m., and the fire was out in about 20 minutes.
The fire was ruled accidental, though a cause has not been determined.
The home’s four occupants were asleep when the fire began and self-evacuated, according to Kauffman. They suffered smoke inhalation but had no serious injuries.
The rec room sustained heavy fire damage, and the entire house had heat and smoke damage.
The homeowners could not be reached for comment.
