A new business is opening in downtown Bellefonte with ‘a personality of its own’

After sitting vacant for almost a year, a downtown Bellefonte storefront has a new tenant.

Black Diamond Barber Parlor — located at 224 W. High St. — will soon open in the former home of Jabebo Studio, a jewelry store that relocated to the former Catholic Charities building, 213 E. Bishop St., last fall.

The business uncovered its windows Tuesday to reveal a new look with checkered floors, skull decor and styling chairs.

According to its Instagram account, the barber shop will have a “personality of its own” and have “old roots” at its core — “where the barber shop was the place to be.”
