New restaurant will bring Asian flavors to the Nittany Mall. What’s on the menu?

A new restaurant will bring Asian flavors to the Nittany Mall next week.

Sushi Yume will open its doors with week-long specials starting Monday, June 1, the restaurant announced online. It is expected to offer a wide-ranging menu featuring sushi, boba teas, Vietnamese bahn mi and more.

Through June 7, customers can receive 20% off their entire orders to celebrate Sushi Yume’s opening. The restaurant will offer dine-in and takeout orders.

Sushi Yume will operate from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday. The restaurant is closed every Sunday.

Plans to bring Sushi Yume to State College were first unveiled in a September 2025 Facebook post, which noted the restaurant was, at the time, hiring hosts, sushi chefs and kitchen staff. It’s not immediately clear if the restaurant is still searching for new employees.

Sushi Yume marks one of the first openings at the Nittany Mall since the launch of Happy Valley Casino, the long-planned mini-casino located at the mall’s southwestern entrance where Macy’s once stood. Advocates for the project have hoped the mini-casino would help revitalize the area and bring more tenants to College Township mall.

La Caribbean Corner, another Nittany Mall restaurant, opened in early 2025. It joins the Ville Billy’s pizza shop as one of the last remaining dining options inside the mall.
