Thousands of people gathered in downtown State College throughout Saturday for Pride festivities that continue to grow each year.
Hosted by Centre LGBT+, State College Pride kicked off with a parade that featured more than 1,000 marchers, the most ever for the event that started in 2021, according to the nonprofit. Events in honor of Pride Month continued at Sidney Friedman Park, with speakers including Grand Marshal Erica Deuso, who is the mayor of Downingtown and the first openly transgender mayor in Pennsylvania, State College Mayor Ezra Nanes and others.
Events at the park also included live music, drag performances and more through the afternoon.
