Mount Nittany Health Center has announced its most popular baby names of 2025, and the top pick for Centre County boys is a repeat winner.

Oliver remained the most popular boys name in 2025 after also taking the top spot in 2024 and coming in third in 2023. And the name Oliver wasn’t just popular this year in Centre County. In fact, data from the U.S. Social Security Administration shows Oliver was the third most popular name in Pennsylvania in 2024.

None of the other top five names on the Mount Nittany list made the cut in 2024, while John, the fourth most popular for 2025, appeared at No. 8 in 2024. The second most popular boy name in 2025 at Mount Nittany was Hudson, which did not make it on the top 10 list in the state for the prior year.

As for baby girls, Sophia was the most popular in 2025 after not appearing on the Mount Nittany list in 2024. None of the other top five names for 2025 were repeats from the prior year. The name Sophie was the fourth most popular in girls name statewide in 2024, however.
