Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration has announced that it will move forward with a proposal to close Rockview state prison and Quehanna Boot Camp. The move is aimed at saving tens of millions of dollars but will affect the lives of hundreds of workers in central Pennsylvania, as well as the local economy.

After months of uncertainty and opposition, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration announced that it will move forward with a proposal to close Rockview state prison and Quehanna Boot Camp.

From the workforce and inmates to the economy and the land itself, the closures could have some of the most far-reaching effects in at least the past decade in Centre County. That’s part of the reason we want to hear from you about your experiences, concerns and opinions.
