Driving on North Atherton Street on Wednesday? Prepare for delays in State College

State College drivers should prepare themselves for potential delays Wednesday on North Atherton Street.

According to PennDOT, Centre County maintenance crews will close the northbound travel lane on North Atherton Street (Route 3014) — between College Avenue and White Course Drive — between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday. The travel lane will remain open throughout the day, as potholes will be patched up during that time.

The repairs are only temporary, as permanent repairs are expected to come later this year as part of the next phase of highway repairs on Atherton Street.

Wednesday’s delay is expected to be confined to just one day. PennDOT thanked drivers for their “patience” and reminded them “to exercise caution in work zones, obey posted speed limits and always buckle up.”

Motorists can check conditions on North Atherton Street — and more than 40,000 roadway miles — by visiting 511PA.com or following regional Twitter alerts accessible on the website.
