Plans for a new Jersey Mike’s Subs in State College are in the works.

Plans submitted to College Township show a Jersey Mike’s is proposed for 430 Shiloh Road, State College. Land development plans show a 1,500 square foot building is proposed for the currently vacant site. The property is zoned general commercial.

The plan shows 21 parking spaces, including two accessible parking spaces.

The plan is “under review” and was submitted Oct. 23, according to the College Township website. The College Township Planning Commission typically meets at 7 p.m. the first and third Tuesday of the month.

Jersey Mike’s is known for its fresh sliced and grilled subs, and has two locations in State College, 2135 S. Atherton Street and 2009 N. Atherton Street, Suite 100. Matt Patterson, a multi-unit franchisee of Central Pennsylvania, said in an email that they’ve been exploring this location for a while and it still “very much in the planning phase.”

“It will be an additional site in State College if we can get approvals, making three total locations in town. We are excited for the opportunity to expand to that side of town to better serve our hometown community,” Patterson wrote.

That general area of College Township has seen more development lately, as the planning commission recently heard a commercial subdivision and hotel land development proposal for the west side of Shiloh Road, north of the Trout Road and Shiloh Road intersection.
