Two artists paid a special tribute to Irish singer Sinead O’Connor in an emotional and tearful way on July 26.

Pink pulled opener and fellow Grammy Award-winner Brandi Carlile onstage in Cincinnati to perform the late artist’s 1990 hit “Nothing Compares 2 U,” a video shot by a fan and posted on Twitter, which has been rebranded as X, shows.

The news of O’Connor’s death was announced by her family in a statement on July 26, NPR reported:

“It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Sinéad. Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time.”

The cause of death has not been released.

The moving song about a love lost was originally composed by Prince and appeared on the 1985 album “The Family.” When O’Connor released her version years later, it shot to the top of the Billboard Music charts and became a worldwide hit.

O’Connor’s death came a year following the suicide of her son Shane, who died in January 2022.

Pink is currently performing her Summer Carnival Tour.
