How long will your tax refund take to arrive?
If you file online, you can expect your Form 1040 return to be processed and any federal refund issued within about 21 days, according to the IRS, though it can take longer.
It takes an average of four weeks to process an online state income tax return in Pennsylvania, according to tax preparation company H&R Block. After your return has been processed, if you are owed a refund you can expect to wait three to four additional weeks to receive it. The process can take longer if state officials need more information to process your return.
For local earned income tax returns resulting in refunds, Centre County residents can generally expect to receive their refund within 75 days of April 15, the Centre Daily Times reported previously.
