What’s the best place to work in PA? Forbes named these the 10 best employers
A Pennsylvania company was recently named by Forbes as one of the 10 best mid-sized employers in the U.S.
Forbes recently released its ranking of America’s best employers, dividing companies into two categories: large (more than 5,000 workers) and mid-sized (1,000 to 5,000 employees). The report is released annually and is in partnership with Statista. The ranking uses surveys with feedback from 217,000 workers.
One Pennsylvania-based company, Toll Brothers, cracked the top 10 in the mid-sized category, coming in at the No. 4 spot in the country.
The highest-ranking Pennsylvania company in Forbes’ best large employers list fell at No. 18, St. Luke’s University Health Network in Bethlehem.
In a separate Forbes ranking in 2024, St. Luke’s took the No. 9 top spot in Pennsylvania for best employer. However, that by-state analysis included employers based in other states with Pennsylvania employees.
PA’s Toll Brothers named a best employer in 2025
Toll Brothers, a building and construction firm based in Fort Washington, Pa., bills itself as a luxury home builder operating in many U.S. states. In 2023, the company was named America’s “most admired” home builder by Fortune magazine.
Founded in 1967, Toll Brothers employs about 4,800 people, according to the Forbes analysis.
In addition to building homes, Toll Brothers “operates its own architectural, engineering, mortgage, title, land development, smart home technology, and landscape subsidiaries,” Forbes writes, in part. “The company also develops master-planned and golf course communities as well as operates its own lumber distribution, house component assembly, and manufacturing operations.”
Forbes also named the company at No. 71 on its list of “most trusted companies in America” for 2025.
A message sent to Toll Brothers for comment on the Forbes ranking was not returned.
As of March 27, Toll Brothers has more than 250 open positions advertised on its LinkedIn across several states. A few Pennsylvania openings include an assistant project manager for community planning, a national sales intern and an associate sales consultant based in Ambler.
