Sunglasses or poncho for Penn State’s Blue-White this weekend? See forecast
AccuWeather meteorologist Tom Kines said he will likely tailgate Penn State’s Blue-White practice, but he will probably be rained on.
“I’m pretty sure we’re not going to need sunglasses or sunscreen” Saturday, he said. “More likely a rain jacket and umbrella for those that are tailgating.”
A cold, steady rain — or at least a drizzle — is expected Saturday, when Penn State fans descend on Beaver Stadium to watch the Nittany Lions gear up for the coming football season. The Blue-White practice, will reportedly feature drills, stretching and a walk-through. A Saturday morning block party outside the stadium is likely to see rain, too, and temperatures are slated to be in the mid-40s to high 50s.
Friday could bring a shower, Kines said, meaning those waiting outside the Happy Valley Casino for its first test day might want to bring an umbrella.
The drizzly weather is expected to clear up somewhat by Sunday, when more crowds are expected at Penn State for the Beaver Stadium Run. Cool temperatures are expected to prevail, but Kines said “we’ve got a shot at 60.” Clouds are expected to linger through the day.
Monday is expected to be dry as well, though rain is likely to return Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. A sunny but cool weekend is forecasted to kick off May.
