Penn State breaks NCAA Tournament drought, earns No. 10 seed, matchup with Texas A&M

After 12 years, Penn State men’s basketball is finally back in the NCAA Tournament.

The Nittany Lions were announced as a 10 seed Sunday evening when the bracket for the tournament was announced on CBS as part of Selection Sunday. They’ll take on Texas A&M in Des Moines, Iowa, in the first round on Thursday. If they were to earn that victory, they would face the winner of a matchup between Texas and Colgate on Saturday in the second round.

This appearance comes after Penn State played Purdue for the Big Ten Tournament title Sunday afternoon in Chicago. That game, the program’s second appearance in the Big Ten Tournament final, resulted in a 65-67 loss for the Nittany Lions.
