Penn State football gains commitment from 4-star defensive end Ken Talley for 2022
Penn State doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon with its 2022 recruiting class.
Four-star defensive end Ken Talley — the No. 11 weak-side defensive end and the No. 165 player in the class of 2022 — committed to the Nittany Lions on Tuesday afternoon. Talley announced his decision on his Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Talley is the sixth addition to Penn State’s 2022 class, joining three-star quarterback Beau Pribula, four-star wide receiver Kaden Saunders, four-star tight end Jerry Cross, four-star tight end Holden Staes and four-star offensive tackle Drew Shelton, who committed Friday. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound defensive end chose Penn State over 23 other scholarship offers listed on his 247Sports profile, including offers from Big Ten programs such as Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Maryland and Rutgers. Penn State cornerbacks coach Terry Smith is listed as his primary recruiter on his profile, while defensive coordinator Brent Pry is listed as his secondary recruiter.
The Philadelphia native, who plays for Northeast High School, becomes the third player from Pennsylvania in the Nittany Lions’ class of 2022. Talley follows in-state commits Shelton and Pribula.
Talley’s commitment allows Penn State to start building its defense of the future. He becomes the Nittany Lions’ first defensive pledge in the 2022 recruiting cycle.
