WATCH: Penn State football players, coach arrive at Rose Bowl honoring Franco Harris
The Penn State football team arrived at the Rose Bowl game in Pasadena on Monday paying tribute to the late Franco Harris.
Players and head coach James Franklin wore Harris’ signature No. 34 jersey when they arrived at Rose Bowl Stadium.
Harris, a legendary former Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers running back, died Dec. 20 at 72 years old.
In a statement after Harris’ death, Franklin called him a “true steward of the Blue & White.”
“His professional career and accomplishments speak for itself as a Pro Football Hall of Famer, four-time Super Bowl Champion and nine-time Pro Bowl selection, but it was his toughness and team-first approach as a Nittany Lion that will long be remembered by Penn Staters,” he said.
