Penn State LT Olu Fashanu declares for 2024 NFL Draft, will travel to Peach Bowl
Arguably Penn State’s best player is off to the NFL.
Left tackle Olu Fashanu declared for the 2024 NFL Draft Friday, while also announcing he will travel to the Peach Bowl. Fashanu made the announcement on the social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.
He’s leaving the program as a potential top-five pick in the draft after deciding to come back for the 2023 season when he was widely projected to go early in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Fashanu was a stalwart for the program for the last two seasons, playing at an incredibly high level and showing he’s one of the best players in the country, regardless of position.
He was named Rimington-Pace Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year in the Big Ten after this season, while also making first team all-conference. Fashanu earned All-American status from Walter Camp Football Foundation, the Associated Press, Sporting News and the American Football Coaches Association, making him the fourth consensus All-American since James Franklin became the head coach in 2014.
With his departure, the Nittany Lions will have to replace at least three starting offensive linemen. Center Hunter Nourzad is out of eligibility while right tackle Caedan Wallace declared for the draft.
