For summer 2025, we’re looking back on the past quarter century of Penn State football and Nittany Lions. We formed a panel of voters to determine the best players at each position since the 2000 season, along with the top 10 offensive and defensive players overall.

Our summer series ranking the best Penn State football players of the last 25 years is nearing its end — and this is the part where you come in.
In case you’re joining us late, we organized a panel of 10 Penn State beat writers this summer to pick the top-10 players since 2000 at every position and then overall. You can revisit our panel’s picks by using the drop-down menu at the top of this article. But that’s all behind us.
Now, we want you to share your top 10 at each position, just like our panel of beat writers. We’ll allow voting until 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, and we’ll publish all the reader poll results the morning of July 31. To take part, just fill in the blanks below for any position you feel strongly about — whether that’s one or all of them.
We have a handy-dandy guide of sorts at the bottom of this article, one we provided to our panel voters, that includes players stats and career highlights. That way, you don’t have to strictly rely on your memory. Nearly every player of the last 25 years who made an All-Big Ten team is listed, in addition to multi-year starters we felt belonged in the conversation.
