See how Penn State’s Beaver Stadium has transformed 1 year after press box demolition

On Jan. 4, 2025, hundreds of people gathered to watch the press box at Beaver Stadium collapse into the snow after demolition — marking a significant milestone for Penn State’s $700 million renovation project.

Some other work had taken place before that, such as the addition of new escalators at Gates A and E, but the most extensive work had to wait until after the Nittany Lions’ 2024 home slate ended. And once it started, it was nonstop through 2025, with crews and cranes mobilized, new signage erected, and temporary seating installed and later removed at the end of the football season.

Centre Daily Times visuals editor Abby Drey made visits to Beaver Stadium part of her weekly routine throughout 2025, documenting the way the facility has changed since the press box first came down.
