Here are this week’s nominees for the Centre Daily Times high school athlete of the week presented in alphabetical order. They were selected by editor Lauren Muthler and sports reporter Jon Sauber via stats compiled by the CDT or sent to cdtscores@centredaily.com. Vote for your favorite.

Garrett Burns, Bald Eagle Area
Burns led the Eagles to their first victory of the season, against the Huntingdon Bearcats, by tallying 246 yards and two passing touchdowns on 13-of-28 passing. He added 81 yards and three touchdowns on the ground in the 46-8 win.
Brendan Colwell, Penns Valley
Colwell won the Altoona Mountain Lion XC Invitational for Penns Valley on Saturday. The senior runner took first with a time of 15:54.42. His efforts helped lead the Rams to a first-place team finish, as well.
Chad Frank, Philipsburg-Osceola
Frank led Phliipsburg-Osceola to wins over Bald Eagle Area, Clearfield and Penns Valley in a Mountain League golf match Thursday. He finished as the match’s co-medalist with a score of 77.
Ethan Rossman, Bellefonte
Rossman led Bellefonte football in rushing in Friday night’s 26-14 loss to the Central Scarlet Dragons. The senior quarterback finished the game with 73 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. He also threw for a touchdown in the game.
St. Joseph’s girls’ cross country
The Wolfpack opened up their season Saturday by earning first out of 17 teams at the Red, White and Blue Classic at White Oak Park. They had six runners finish in the top 30. Finishing in the top 30 were Kathleen Simander (4th in 20:40.15), Brandi Carmack (6th in 21:01.04), Camryn Eby (11th in 21:31.75), Evy Reynolds (13th in 21:41.98), and Amber Fisher (15th in 21:47.16) and Kate Youngmark (27th in 22:34.37).
