State College’s lone goal came with 12:21 left in the game when Phebe Herlocher found the back of the cage after a flurry in front of the net. Leah Moyer led the Little Lions’ defense, and Molly Schreiner earned the shutout in goal.
Golf
Saint Joseph’s vs. BEA: Saint Joseph’s Catholic Academy freshman golfer Chris Warner made history on Tuesday when he hit a hole-in-one — the first in school history — in a match against Bald Eagle Area at Skytop. Warner and Luke Duckworth competed against BEA’s two golfers, Jeffre Pifer and Noah Foltz, while Tim Peters, Dmitri Cornali and Jun Park competed in exhibition. “Chris sunk his first, and our program’s first, in-competition hole-in-one — he hit nothing but cup,” Saint Joseph’s coach Chad Walsh said. “It was crazy, because just a few minutes before, Tim came within an inch of doing the same thing on the same hole. It was a great shot and cool experience for any golfer.”
