Bellefonte football’s Nolan Weaver is the Centre Daily Times’ Athlete of the Week for Oct. 4-9

The Centre Daily Times’ Athlete of the Week from Oct. 4-9 has been determined by our readers. Bellefonte senior running back and linebacker Nolan Weaver won the poll with 24.63% (707 votes) of the vote. Bald Eagle Area freshman quarterback Carson Nagle trailed him in second place with 18.6% (534 votes) of the vote.

Weaver had 21 carries for 266 yards and two touchdowns last week against Huntingdon, averaging 12.7 yards per carry. His longest rush came on a 75-yard touchdown. He added six total tackles in the 40-7 win over Huntingdon.

This is Weaver’s second Athlete of the Week victory after winning for the week of Aug. 30-Sept. 4. That week, he had a 9-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown and a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown on the defensive side of the ball and added four receptions for 23 yards as a receiver.
