Here’s who, when and where Centre County volleyball teams play in the District 6 playoffs
The postseason has arrived for high school girls volleyball.
Centre County has five teams set to compete in the District 6 playoffs: Penns Valley, Bald Eagle Area, Philipsburg-Osceola, Bellefonte and State College.
Penns Valley will kick things off with a game against Marion Center at 7 p.m. Thursday in Class 2A action. Centre County’s other teams will wait until next week to compete.
Here’s what we know so far about the brackets:
2A
No. 11 Penns Valley at No. 6 Marion Center at 7 p.m. Thursday (winner plays No. 3 Forest Hills Tuesday in the quarterfinals)
No. 4 Bald Eagle Area vs. the winner of No. 5 Tyrone and No. 12 Northern Cambria on Tuesday in the quarterfinals (winner plays the winner of Philipsburg-Osceola vs No. 8 Juniata or No. 9 Huntingdon on Nov. 4 in the semifinals)
No. 1 Philipsburg-Osceola vs. the winner of No. 8 Juniata and No. 9 Huntingdon on Tuesday in the quarterfinals (winner plays the winner of Bald Eagle Area vs No. 5 Tyrone or No. 12 Northern Cambria on Nov. 4 in the semifinals)
Championship game will be played Nov. 6
3A
No. 3 Bellefonte at No. 2 Hollidaysburg in the semifinals on Tuesday (winner plays No. 1 Somerset in the final on Nov. 4)
4A
No. 1 State College vs. No. 4 Altoona in the semifinals on Monday at Sate College (winner plays the winner of No. 2 Central Mountain and No. 3 Williamsport in the final on Nov. 3)
