Poll results: Bellefonte girls soccer player selected as CDT Girls Athlete of the Week
Bellefonte girls soccer player Keira Whitman is the winner of the latest Centre Daily Times high school girls athlete of the week poll, as selected by readers of CentreDaily.com.
Whitman had 11 saves in a 1-0 victory over Penns Valley on Oct. 5. She had 66% of the vote in the poll (5,563 votes).
Here were the other nominees for the week of Oct. 4-11:
Angelina Grieb, Bald Eagle soccer: While Bald Eagle fell 3-0 on Oct. 8 to Clearfield, Grieb had 17 saves and owned a save percentage of 90%.
Julia Emel, Penns Valley volleyball: Emel had 21 assists in Penns Valley’s 3-1 victory over Bellefonte on Oct. 5. She came in second in the poll, with 25% of the vote (2,117 votes).
Marlee Kwasnica, State College cross country: Kwasnica led the field with an individual win, owning a time of 19:32 in a tri-meet with Altoona and Penns Valley on Oct. 10. Ultimately, State College defeated Altoona 17-46 and Penns Valley 15-50 at Circleville Park.
Quiana Guo, State College girls tennis: Guo defeated Altoona’s Morgan Stevens 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets to aid State College in their advancement to the District VI team championship on Oct. 10.
