Poll results: Philipsburg-Osceola football players selected as CDT Boys Athlete of the Week
For the second week in a row, Philipsburg-Osceola football came out on top in the Centre Daily Times high school boys athlete of the week poll, as selected by readers of CentreDaily.com.
Dayton Berger and Jakodi Jones were nominated as a pair for the week of Oct. 11-18. They had 53% of the vote (16,925 votes). Jones was also voted the winner for Oct. 4-11.
Here were the other nominees for the week of Oct. 11-18:
Jackson Romig, Penns Valley football: Romig went 15-for-25 (60%) on passes for 256 yards, three touchdown passes and one interception and he had eight carries for 10 yards and a touchdown in Penns Valley’s 28-21 victory over Tyrone on Oct. 14.
JW Scott, State College football: Scott had nine tackles (seven solo) and two tackles for loss in State College’s 20-6 victory over Harrisburg on Oct. 15.
Liam Halterman, Bellefonte football: Halterman went 6-for-8 on passes for 110 yards and a passing touchdown, along with three carries for 20 yards and a rushing touchdown in the Red Raiders’ 55-16 loss to Clearfield. He came in second in the poll, with 43% of the vote (13,641 votes).
Tre Greene, Bald Eagle football: Greene had eight carries for 130 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns, along with six total tackles (four solo) in Bald Eagle’s 51-0 victory over Huntingdon on Oct. 14.
