Poll results: Bellefonte basketball player selected as CDT Boys Athlete of the Week

A Bellefonte basketball player is the boys athlete of the week for Feb. 6-12, as selected by readers of CentreDaily.com.

Cole Crissman had 24 points in a 49-37 victory over Juniata on Feb. 10. Fifteen of his points came off of five 3-point field goals. In a poll that had more than 23,000 votes, Crissman won with 53% of the vote — 12,294 votes.

Here were the other nominees:

Blaze Angellotti, Bald Eagle boys basketball: Angellotti had 14 points against Huntingdon on Feb. 7 in a 53-49 loss.

Braeden Shrewsberry, State College boys basketball: Shrewsberry capped off State College’s regular season with a 25-point performance in a 61-45 win over Cumberland Valley on Feb. 7. The Little Lions also clinched the Mid-Penn Commonwealth division that night.

Derek Cox, Bellefonte boys basketball: Cox scored 12 points against Juniata on Feb. 10, resulting in a 49-37 win for the Red Raiders. He came in second in the poll with 9,742 votes (42%).

Issac Dye, State College boys basketball: Dye had 17 points in State College’s 61-45 win against Cumberland Valley on Feb. 7. State College took the Mid-Penn Commonwealth division crown.

Ryan Perks, State College boys basketball: Perks had 11 points in State College’s 61-45 division-clinching victory versus Cumberland Valley on Feb. 7.

State College boys swimming: State College boys swimming took home the boys Mid-Penn Conference title by winning four gold and two silver medals. Shawn Erdley, Sam Huggins and Tyler Uhlig finished in second, third and fourth-place individually. Erdley had two gold medals, Huggins and Uhlig had a gold and silver a piece.

Tyler Serb, Bald Eagle boys basketball: Serb had 12 points on Feb. 7 in a 53-49 loss to Huntingdon and was his team’s second-leading scorer.
