See who you selected as your favorite Centre County business that opened in 2021
The votes are in, and of more than two dozen businesses that opened in 2021, CentreDaily.com readers have selected a favorite.
Our fun and totally unscientific poll was open for one week — Dec. 22-29 — and 343 voters showed their love for caffeine, with downtown State College’s Vibe Coffee taking 30 percent of the vote.
The coffee shop opened in September at 401 W. Beaver Ave., in the Graduate apartment building. Recent Penn State graduate Ethan Steiger, CEO, co-founded the business with partner Tabeel Noel, with the goal of bringing an urban-feel to the downtown coffee shop scene.
“There are several awesome coffee shops here, but we think State College is becoming more and more ‘big city’-like, downtown, so we thought it would be awesome to bring that type of vibe to the town,” Steiger previously told the CDT.
Here’s a look at readers’ favorite new Centre County businesses of 2021, according to votes cast in the poll.
1. Vibe Coffee Co. (104 votes)
2. Creekside at Gamble Mill (34 votes)
3. Aldi (33 votes)
4. Rural King (27 votes)
5. El Jefe’s Taqueria (25)
5. Lupita’s (Milesburg) (25)
In addition to votes for 20 new businesses across the county, Core Physio LLC, garnered 14 write-in votes. Physical therapy clinic Pelvic Shanti had four write-in votes.
