Where can you find outdoor farmers markets in Centre County? See hours for 2025
As spring blooms into full swing in central Pennsylvania, local farmers markets are quickly preparing to open for the season.
Outdoor markets in State College, Bellefonte and beyond will regularly set up shop and welcome buyers back for a few months of warm-weather shopping. No matter which market you visit, you can expect to find plenty of fresh produce, locally crafted goods and treats for all ages.
Here’s what to know about several farmers markets throughout Centre County this spring and summer:
Downtown State College Farmers Market (Locust Lane between College Avenue and Beaver Avenue)
This market is open from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every Friday through late fall. Its website lists at least 12 vendors for the 2025 season, including Inside Out Cookie, Fasta & Ravioli Co., Harner Farm and Idou Coffee Co. Other vendors will sell baked goods, fresh flowers and local produce, among other items.
Bellefonte Farmers Market (3047 Benner Pike in the gravel lot adjacent to Centre Peace)
Bellefonte’s historic farmers market opened for the season in early May. According to an Instagram post, the market began its season by featuring frozen meats, live plants, dried florals and fresh eggs, among other locally produced and raised items. The market will return every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. through late fall.
North Atherton Farmers Market (Home Depot parking lot, 2615 Green Tech Drive)
This farmers market, open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. starting May 17, is a producers-only market, meaning vendors sell only what they directly produce, grow or make. Though the North Atherton Farmers Market has yet to unveil its 2025 vendor lineup, a look at last year’s vendors shows a wide range of bakeries, specialty food vendors, farm stands and more. The market is expected to run through November, according to its website.
Boalsburg Farmers Market (Pennsylvania Military Museum, 51 Boalsburg Ave.)
After running its winter and spring markets inside the Boal Hall at the Boalsburg Fire Company, this farmers market returned to the Pennsylvania Military Museum for the summer season in early May. . The market — which runs from 2 to 6 p.m. every Tuesday — regularly features fresh fish and meat, dairy products, baked goods, produce, cultured beverages, flowers and more from dozens of local vendors. Check out the full list of vendors online at boalsburgfarmersmarket.com.
Guests should note that the Pennsylvania Military Museum remains closed due to a 14-month large-scale renovation project that began in December.
Pine Grove Mills Farmers Market (St. Paul Lutheran Church parking lot, 277 W. Pine Grove Road)
Pine Grove Mills’ farmers market is scheduled to return on Thursday, June 5, according to its website. As a producer-only market, Pine Grove Mills’ farmers market says its vendors are eager to answer questions customers might have.
“Bring your family and meet your friends and neighbors on Thursdays, where you can find fresh local food and drinks,” the market’s website reads. “Local farmers have seasonal fruit and veggies, a large variety of pasture-raised meat, brown eggs, and cheese. Local, small businesses have beer, coffee, bread and baked goods.”
