Former Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons has added more hardware to his professional football trophy case.

The Dallas Cowboys linebacker was unanimously voted as the NFL’s Defensive Rookie of the Year on Thursday night. This follows the 22-year old being named to the Pro Bowl and first-team All-Pro in his first season. The rookie was selected in the first round with the 12th overall pick of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Parsons played in 16 regular season games in 2021, compiling 84 total tackles (64 solo), 20 tackles for loss, 30 quarterback hits, 13 sacks and three forced fumbles.
