When is Penn State football’s stripe out and homecoming? See 2025 game themes
Penn State has announced its theme games for the 2025 football season, including the stripe out and helmet stripe games.
The Nittany Lions will have the stripe out on Oct. 11 against Northwestern — a game that will also serve as the homecoming game and feature the team’s “generations of greatness” uniforms. They will then have the helmet stripe game against Indiana on Nov. 8 in what should be the team’s second biggest home game of the season, behind only the White Out on Sept. 27 against the Oregon Ducks.
The Ducks and Hoosiers represent the biggest home impediments to an undefeated season for Penn State, while a matchup with Ohio State in Columbus on Nov. 1 is its most difficult road matchup.
The Nittany Lions will have their annual Senior Day game at the team’s last home matchup of the season. This year that will be on Nov. 22 when the Nebraska Cornhuskers travel to Happy Valley.
It will be the Huskers’ first trip to State College since 2017 when Penn State won 56-44.
Penn State will also host its annual Thon game on Sept. 6 against FIU in the team’s second game of the season. Families and Thon volunteers are going to be invited to the game, with the team wearing a Thon helmet sticker.
