The Big Ten Wrestling Championships are complete as Penn State went 5-1 in the finals.

The Nittany Lions had two others finish third and one other finished fourth. During the third session, Josh Barr suffered an injury, which forced him to medically forfeit and finish sixth at 197 pounds.

Session 3 (Recap)

Penn State went a combined 3-1 in the third session, but there is some worry as Josh Barr seemed to suffer a left leg injury.

He tried to continue his 197-pound consolation semifinals match against Minnesota’s Isaiah Salazar. On the whistle after an injury timeout for Salazar, the Golden Gophers’ wrestler shot in on Barr for a takedown.

On his way down, Barr signaled for injury time, and the bout was stopped.

With Barr’s injury, it’s doubtful he competes, so there are nine Nittany Lions wrestlers competing in the final session, which is the finals, third- and fifth-place matches. The session is slated for a 5:30 p.m. start.

Penn State has tallied 156.5 points to lead Nebraska by 29.5 points.
