The collectible poster for this year’s Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts has arrived.
The design features bold, vibrant colors and iconic design elements that organizers have come to love and expect in Arts Fest posters, according to a release. It also includes the jester that has been part of many other posters.
“We love this poster so much; and we know you are going to love it too,” the release said. “This is a must have for any poster collection.”
The poster was designed by Saige Sommese, a 2018 graduate of Penn State’s graphic design program. According to the release, she used concepts from her late father, Lanny Sommese, an emeritus professor of graphic design at Penn State who designed the annual Arts Fest poster for over four decades.
This year’s poster can be picked up for free at the following locations beginning Tuesday.
403 S. Allen Street, Suite 205A, State College
Downtown State College Improvement District, 127 S. Fraser St., State College
State College Framing Company and Gallery, 160 Rolling Ridge Drive, State College
HUB-Robeson Center Desk, Penn State campus
The Happy Valley Adventure Bureau, 240 W. Beaver Ave., State College
Hintz Family Alumni Center, University Park campus
The festival will take place from July 9-13 in downtown State College and Penn State campus. Children and Youth Day is July 9, and the sidewalk sale and exhibition will open July 10. More information can be found online at arts-festival.com or via the festival’s app, CFPA-Arts Fest.
