CentreDaily.com readers chose their favorite hidden gem on the county restaurant and bar scene, and it wasn’t even close.
The Frosty Hook received almost 50% of the vote total out of 11 choices in our poll (which, as a reminder, is not scientific and just for fun).
The Frosty Hook got 117 votes out of the 246 cast (48% of the total) in the poll, which was open May 4-10. No other entrant received more than 8%. Pine Grove Hall, Juana’s and Chew Chew Bun finished second, third and fourth, respectively.
The Spring Mills bar is known for its small-town atmosphere, traditional pub fare and cheap, cold beer.
Head to the Frosty Hook for a low-key night, whether sitting at the bar or playing pool with friends.
We also received a pair of nominations for hidden gems that weren’t included in the poll. If you haven’t yet, check out Breakfast on Boal, which opened in May 2022 in Boalsburg, and Streamside Family Restaurant, which has been open for a year in Spring Mills.
