The votes have been tallied, and CentreDaily.com readers have chosen their favorite place to enjoy a milkshake.
Big D’s Cones and Shakes in Milesburg was the runaway winner with 60% of the vote (675 votes) in our poll, which was open May 25-30. There were 1,119 total votes cast in the poll, which was just for fun and was not scientific.
Jim and Danielle Snyder opened the ice cream shop at 209 Dell St. during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, facing challenges of business closures and stay-at-home orders.
At the time, Danielle Snyder told the CDT: “We want to give the public something to look forward to. “What’s better than being able to get out of your house and have something sweet?”
In April, the Snyders posted on Facebook to celebrate the start of their fourth year in business. “Thank you all SO incredibly much for all the love and support you have shown to our favorite little ice cream shop, staff, and family. We could not continue on without you.”
Twin Kiss in Howard, which was the latest stop in our “Hungry in Happy Valley” series, finished second in the poll with 133 votes (12%). Riddle’s Ice Cream Shop in Spring Mills was close behind in third, with 128 votes (11%).
